Community Commitment
Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union believes in our community and we are committed to partnering with local schools and charitable organizations to foster growth and strengthen our community. It has long been a tradition for PCFCU to encourage our staff to volunteer with community programs and when possible PCFCU enjoys contributing to local organizations and events thus giving back to the communities where we live and work.
With this in mind, we have developed the following guidelines to assist local organizations to submit donation/sponsorship requests.
Our Cooperative Focus and Financial Ability:
PCFCU's focus in supporting the community is primarily involving youth, education, elderly, and public service organizations. With this in mind we also evaluate the requests by geographic significance and existing budget.
When requesting a donation or sponsorship, unless from a school, please provide proof of your organizations current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your school or organization must be located in or benefit the communities of Klamath, Lake, Modoc, or northeast Siskiyou Counties in Oregon and California.
PCFCU will not consider individual requests, personal entertainment or travel requests, requests solely for religious activities, or requests for political activities.
To help us better understand the purpose of your request, please tell us how your organization or event will benefit the community. Does your organization or event further financial literacy in the community? Does it reach out to the underserved population? Will the Credit Union receive any recognition from your organization or event?
Tell us how much you are requesting and how will the funds be used. PCFCU's average community contribution is between $50 and $500 per year. Please provide us with deadline and/or event dates and we will respond as quickly as possible. Please let us know if your organization or event would also benefit from volunteers from PCFCU as well. We are happy to communicate volunteer opportunities to our Management and staff.

Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues and associations, and business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities to benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Adopted as our movement’s charity of choice, credit unions are the third largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals.
United Way of the Klamath Basin conducts a community fund raising campaign each fall, and distributes the majority of these funds among a variety of health and human care social service agencies. These member agencies provide help more than 20,000 people annually. Donors can also contribute to several local affiliate agencies.
SMART – Start Making a Reader Today partners with schools with children from low income families, as studies show they are less likely to have books in the home. To encourage reading outside the classroom, SMART gives each child 14 new, take-home books—two per month during the course of the program.
Klamath & Lake County Rotary Clubs The Object of Rotary is to “encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.” Rotary is a service organization. Since 1910, the Rotary Motto has been “Service Above Self.”
Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank has been serving our community for 26 years. Their Action Statement is: To address hunger by providing food to emergency food assistance programs and support other non-profit agencies and their programs that have a positive effect on the lives of children and adults in Klamath and Lake Counties
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Oregon can help you solve your debt problems and learn new skills to help you take control of your finances. NFCC certified credit counselors offer confidential personal credit and budget counseling. HUD certified housing counselors offer information and help to first time home buyers and community members investigating a reverse mortgage. Agency educators offer community approved education programs.
Friends of the Children of the Klamath Basin provides proffessionally trained, salaried mentors (Friends) for youth from our most troubled homes with 3 goals in mind. Each child will 1) graduate from high school, 2) avoid contact with the Justice system and incarceration, and 3) avoid teen parenting. In coordination with our elementary schools, students are identified in kindergarten and Friends commits to them for 12 years! Everyone needs a mentor – who was yours?
Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
Klamath & Lake Community Action Services (KLCAS) is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) agency. They seek and distribute State and Federal funding, which is allocated to local social- service providers throughout Klamath and Lake Counties.
Integral Youth Services The goal of the school is to bring the students back up to acceptable academic achievement levels so they may return to mainstream school. An emphasis is placed on helping students cope with their emotions, to acquire appropriate behaviors and improve their social skills.
Through direct financial support or other in-kind contributions to worthwhile local organizations, and by participating in public service activities, Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union strives to be an active partner in our community. We recognize that practicing good Corporate Citizenship supports the Credit Union Philosophy of People Helping People. Furthermore, it will help raise the overall level of social and economic well being of those in our community, help to strengthen ties within the community, and better position us to reach out and serve - as only credit unions can - those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.
